Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and SunSigil.dev, the studio that makes Elunor ([legal name of the operator], [postal address]) ("we"), for playing Elunor on any device, in the browser or on our website sunsigil.dev. Contact: support@sunsigil.dev. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the UK or of the EU country you live in.
1. Who can play
You must be 13 or older. If your country sets a higher age for agreeing to online services on your own (up to 16 in some EU countries), you may not play without a parent's or guardian's permission and you must tell us that when you sign up. Voice chat is only for players confirmed as 18 or older. Our Community rules are part of these terms. You must give true details when you create your character; your real name and birthday are private (see the Privacy Policy).
2. Your account
Your device is your login, and you can link a sign-in (a SunSigil account - our own, made at account.sunsigil.dev or in the game - or a provider such as Google, Microsoft or Discord) so you can play your character elsewhere and recover it. One SunSigil account works in every SunSigil game. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what is done with your account. One character per account. Do not sell, share or transfer accounts.
You may play your character on several of your own devices at the same time (mirror mode): the device you are using controls the character and the others show the same view. When those devices are on the same home network they connect to each other directly, encrypted, so the view follows faster; otherwise it goes through our servers. The Privacy Policy (section 4) explains what this involves. Use only devices and networks you are allowed to use, and do not use mirror mode to let someone else play your account.
3. Playing fairly
You agree not to:
- cheat: modify the game or its files, use bots, macros or automation, exploit bugs on purpose, or read or alter the game's memory or network traffic;
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, or post hateful, sexual or illegal content;
- pretend to be staff or another person - character names that do, or that are offensive, are refused or changed;
- trade game items, coins or accounts for real money outside the game;
- attack, overload or try to get into our servers.
The game checks its own files and looks for cheating and bots. If we find a breach we may warn you, change or refuse a name, mute your voice, suspend your account for a time, or close it for serious or repeated breaches. Suspensions that follow from the game's automatic anti-cheat checks are issued automatically; a person reviews every appeal and can reverse the decision. We tell you what we decided, the ground for it (the rule in these terms or the Community rules that was broken, and the facts we relied on), whether it was decided automatically, how long it lasts, and how to challenge it: appeal in the game or at /appeal, complain by email, go to an out-of-court body, or go to court. Our Community rules page explains how we moderate (automatic checks, a name filter, players' reports, and people who review appeals), how to report content or someone's behaviour (including illegal content), and how to complain about a decision. You can also complain to Ofcom, the UK regulator, about how we handle illegal content, and to the authorities of your EU country.
4. The game world and virtual items
Coins, items, land, buildings and other things in the game are a limited licence to use them in the game. They have no value outside it, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not your property. We may change the game, its balance and its world to keep it working and fair. We will not take away items you paid for, except for a breach of these terms or a refund or chargeback of that purchase.
5. Buying credits
Credits are a virtual currency bought with real money (through Google Play on the Play Store version, and through Stripe elsewhere) and spent in the game's credit shop. Prices show any tax included, and the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Players under 18 may buy credits only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the payment method used. Credits do not expire while your account exists. Our Virtual items and credits page lists what credits buy, and our Refunds and withdrawal page explains cancelling and refunds.
Your right to cancel: under UK and EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. Because credits are delivered to your account straight away, you are asked before paying to agree that delivery starts at once and to acknowledge that you then lose the right to cancel. If credits are not delivered, or are faulty, you keep your legal rights to a repair, a replacement or a refund. Google Play purchases are also covered by Google Play's refund policy.
6. Your content and streaming
You may stream, record and share videos and screenshots of the game, including making money from them, as long as you follow these terms. Things you create in the game (names, messages, buildings) stay yours, and you let us show and store them in the game for as long as they are part of it.
7. Availability and changes
The game is an online service that we keep improving, and it needs an internet connection to play. It may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may change the game or these terms only for a valid reason: to keep the game working, safe, secure or fair, to fix a fault, to add or remove features as the game develops, to follow the law or an authority's order, or to reflect a change in the costs of running it. We tell you in the game before a change that matters. If a change to the game or the terms has more than a minor negative effect on you, we tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may end the contract free of charge within 30 days of that notice (or of the change, if later) and receive a refund for what you paid and have not used. Your statutory rights are not affected.
8. Ending
You can stop playing and delete your account at any time: with a SunSigil account, use "Delete account" at account.sunsigil.dev; otherwise write to privacy@sunsigil.dev. If you withdraw or delete your account, or we end the game as a whole (at least 60 days' notice in the game), we refund the unused paid credits you hold, in proportion to what you paid, to the payment method you used. We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, with the notice and explanation described in section 3. If we close an account for your breach, we may keep the credits on it, and anything bought with them, unless the law says otherwise or a person finds on appeal that the closure was wrong, in which case the account and its credits are restored.
9. Our responsibility
We provide the game and what you buy with reasonable care and skill. Digital content we supply is of satisfactory quality, fit for the purpose you made known to us and as described. If it is not, you have the legal right to a repair or replacement, a price reduction or a refund; for faulty digital content that includes, for the first 30 days after you get it, the right to reject it and be refunded. Where updates are needed to keep the content as described, we provide them. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for losses caused by your breach of these terms, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
10. Disputes and law
Please contact us first at support@sunsigil.dev and we will try to put things right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales (the United Kingdom). If you live in the UK or the EU you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, which this choice of law does not remove, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Our Complaints page says how to complain and which out-of-court dispute resolution we use.
